Terms & Conditions

  1. The minimum delivery value is £75.00 for all orders placed Monday to Friday. The minimum delivery value is £100.00 for all orders placed for delivery Saturday. 

  2. All goods are delivered on a payment on delivery basis, unless otherwise agreed with the credit control department.

  3. All credit accounts must be paid in accordance with the terms of the account. Settlement in accordance with our terms is necessary to ensure continuity of supplies.

  4. All bank charges incurred by JB Foods (Scotland) Ltd for handling of returned or re-presented cheques will be charged to the customer’s account.

  5. To cover our banking and administration costs, all returned Direct Debts will incur a £40 charge to the customer’s account.

  6. All products are subject to availability, specification change and price alteration without notification.

  7. Before signing for the delivery, please check all goods, any shortages or damages must be notified to the driver and recorded at the time of delivery. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all goods are delivered as invoiced.

  8. Requests for credits to account not notified to the driver, will not be authorised unless claimed by telephone or email within 24 hours of delivery. Such claims will be investigated and processed by JB Foods (Scotland) Ltd within 5 working days. Claims for credits out with this time scale will not be accepted.

  9. Returned goods for crediting must be returned in the original packaging and in a saleable condition before credit authorisation is given. Goods may only be returned with prior authorisation of the company. Goods that have been damaged or defaced whilst in the customers’ possession will not be accepted for return/credit.

  10. All Full orders declined at point delivery will incur £35.00 re-stocking fee.

  11. Your right to cancel J Brown butchery meat orders ceases at the point of dispatch. These are NON-RETURNABLE due to these products being perishable (except in the rare event of a quality issue arising and prior authorisation has been given to return).

  12. All individual goods you wish to return after POD will incur an uplift charge of £2.50 per line which will be deducted from final credit of returned item(s).

  13. The customer will guarantee to JB Foods (Scotland Ltd) that any returned chilled or frozen goods have been stored at the correct temperature prior to the uplift and return to the company.

  14. Published price lists and promotional offers cancel all previous versions and are subject to alteration without notice, whether in print or online. For specific product information, always refer to the product label.

  15. All invoiced goods will remain the property of JB Foods (Scotland) Ltd until paid for in full.

  16. All goods included herein are guaranteed to comply with current food safety legislation. 

  17. The Company Reserve the right to suspend without notice further deliveries to customers whose accounts are in arrears, until all arrears (including interest and charges) have been paid.

  18. JB Foods (Scotland) Ltd reserve the right to charge interest in the amount of 8% above the Bank of England base rate, on overdue accounts in accordance with statute.

  19. Scottish Law applies to all contracts and the parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts. 

  20. Please note that calls to or from JB Foods (Scotland) Ltd may be recorded for training and investigative purposes where necessary.

  21. Where the customers enter into a contract with JB Foods (Scotland), the conditions of that specific contract prevail over any other published terms.  

  22. JB Foods (Scotland) Ltd reserve the right to request that customers underwrite the cost in full of any products sourced specifically for them.

  23. All deliveries made by JB Foods shall be done to a reasonable accessible location at the customers premises, or as otherwise agreed between both parties ‘the delivery location’. The customer should allow the company access to such premises and should endeavour to ensure that a responsible person is there to accept delivery of products and sign for them. In the event of no such person being present at time of delivery the customer hereby consents to the company leaving products at the delivery location, and when products are left, risk of the products therefore pass to the customer and no liability shall remain with JB Foods in respect of the products.

  24. JB Foods will not accept responsibility for consequential loss of business earnings due to late or non-deliveries.
